What is a Beaver moon?
podIGT was excited when the clouds parted and he was able to see the round white ball that native Indians and trappers of old called the Beaver Moon. So called because the full moon that appeared just before winter was at a time when they set traps to catch beavers. This meant they would have a plentiful supply of furs to keep them warm over winter. It is also known by others as the Frost Moon. If you missed it last night, keep your eyes peeled for it tonight as it should still be visible.
